About this beach
Blackpool Sands is a sand and shingle beach which is popular with families. It has a cafe/restaurant, toilets, disabled facilities, disabled access to the beach, a slipway and a car park. There is also a dog restricted area and a place for moored bathing rafts.

Eight RNLI lifeguards paddled 10 miles on their rescue boards from Whitsand Bay to Looe in Cornwall yesterday to celebrate Lifeguard week and raise money for the Life first campaign.
